Elizabeth Fraser of Cocteau Twins has an asteroid named after her
The news was shared last week via Cocteau Twins' record label 4AD.
"After 10 years of research, the International Astronomical Union have named the asteroid 2013 TF19, ‘Fraser,’ after Elizabeth Fraser," they shared alongside a NASA link with all the astronomical data to learn more about the asteroid.
The page reveals that the Fraser asteroid was discovered on 31 August 2013 by M. Kusiak and M. Żołnowski at Tincana, and poses no threat to Earth. It also says that the asteroid is not expected to intersect with Earth for millions of years.

Cocteau Twins disbanded in in 1997 whilst recording their ninth studio album. Since then, Fraser has been working with her partner Damon Reece, and recording music under the Sun's Signature moniker. They released their debut single "Golden Air" in 2022.
Fraser also worked with Oneohtrix Point Never on "Tales From The Trash Stratum", and Jónsi on his 2020 single "Cannibal" in recent years, and "Golden Air" marked her first new material as the lead artist in 13 years. A five-track EP was released on Record Store Day 2022.
Last month, Sun's Signature released an extended version of their debut EP via Partisan Records.
