Daft Punk odds on for fastest-selling record in UK chart history
Daft Punk are reportedly looking set to break Oasis’ record for the fastest-selling album in UK chart history.
Music Week report that boo makers Paddy Power are slashing their odds for Daft Punk to outsell the Gallagher brothers and co’s 1997 record Be Here Now during its first week.
Oasis sold over 650,000 copies in its first week 16 years back, and now Daft Punk look likely to top it having already bagged the highest number of pre-sales for any dance album on Amazon.
As well as this, the French electronic duo have been at the number one spot in the UK singles countdown with ‘Get Lucky’ for the past three weeks. New album Random Access Memories comes out on Monday but, before then, can be streamed via iTunes right now.
