Ani Glass shares new single "Phantasmagoria" from upcoming second album
Welsh–Cornish electro-pop artist Ani Glass has shared new single “Phantasmagoria” as the first taste of her upcoming second album of the same name, out on 26 September.
It’s the Cardiff-based musician’s first new music since her 2022 track “Ennill yn Barod”, written for the Welsh national football team's World Cup bid.
Glass, who is a former member of The Pipettes along with her sister Gwenno, put out her debut solo album Mirores in March 2020, but the release was overshadowed by a diagnosis of a rare brain tumour just a few weeks earlier
Thankfully the tumour was benign, but her experience of that scary time feeds into the concept and songs of Phantasmagoria.
Of the new single Glass says “This is my document of the day that changed everything.”
Sung in Welsh and English, the track features Laura J Martin on flute and Glass’s co-producer Iwan Morgan on synths.
