
Jeremy Dutcher takes home the 2018 Polaris Music Prze

The 2018 Polaris Music Prize held in Toronto last night (17 September) was awarded to Jeremy Dutcher for his debut album Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa.
The longlist included 40 albums, and was refined to just 10 in July. Arcade Fire, Charlotte Day Wilson, FRIGS, Milk & Bone and many more missed out on making the shortlist for this year's prize.

- Jeremy Dutcher - Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa
- Partner - In Search Of Lost Time
- Pierre Kwenders - MAKANDA at the End of Space, the Beginning of Time
- Snotty Nose Rez Kids - The Average Savage
- U.S. Girls - In A Poem Unlimited
- Weaves - Wide Open
Jeremy Dutcher was awarded with a cheque for $50,000 CAD, which is just shy of £30,000.
Last year the Canadian music award went to Lido Pimienta for her La Papessa album, and 2016 saw Kaytranada take the award home for his 99.9% record.
