Dua Lipa says her second album is "like a dancercise class"
Dua Lipa has revealed that her highly-anticipated second record is "like a dancercise class".
Speaking to British Vogue, Dua Lipa has given a couple of clues about what her second album will sound like.
Her new record, which will follow on from her 2017 self-titled debut, will be more "conceptual" and "mature". Dua Lipa adds it's "like a dancercise class. It’s just fun!"
One of the interview questions states that Dua Lipa is "weeks" away from releasing her second album, to which she replies, "I’m currently in LA finishing off songs and I’m really excited. I’m so bloody nervous (laughs). With the first record, there were no expectations, but now there’s a lot more pressure. Everyone talks about how difficult the crazy second record is, but in terms of writing it’s been way easier. I feel like I really know myself a lot better. I know what I want to write about, I know how to express my feelings. I know how to talk about things and to allow myself to be vulnerable."
Speaking about the musical influences behind her new album, Dua Lipa explains, "I ended up listening to Prince, Outkast, old Gwen Stefani and No Doubt. It sounds like such a crazy clash of styles, but that’s just how I like to do things. Juxtaposition has always been a common factor in everything I do. It’s very 'me'."
