London queer poppers Rhumba Club promote inclusivity with the anthemic "Normativity"
Mixing familiar '80s synth-pop elements with lustful millennial electro beats, Rhumba Club capture the strength of standing up for your beliefs and staying true to yourself with their latest single "Normativity".
Fighting toxic masculinity with experimental disco grooves, Rhumba Club's new track is an empowering and emotive pop masterpiece.
"I wanted to take on heteronormativity in a brutal way," explains lead singer and writer Tom Falle. "'Normativity' is an anthemic pop track that gets people dancing and singing in unison - turning the audience into a homogeneous...normative mass. I imagine everyone doing the macarena whilst singing 'Let’s all do the normativity!' - it’s designed to create a kind of grotesque moment."
Shared alongside a This Is England-esque video, it's a defiant yet addictive moment of pure pop pleasure.
