Conceived whilst messing around with an old demo, “One Thing At A Time” is a brooding and primal track exploring the intricacies of mental health in the style of The National by way of Beirut. Each element seems to be shaped by a particular mindset; the bass is the sinking feeling of plummeting self-esteem while the piano gives a sense of newfound optimism and purpose.

Hardy has spoken at length about mental health, depression and anxiety and his music certainly reflects those feelings but, rather brilliantly, he always seems to include a light at the end of tunnel. Such is life.
