Icelandic songstress, and cousin to neo-classical composer Ólafur Arnalds, Ólöf Arnalds has premiered a new track via Best Fit.
Like Joanna Newsom with a Nordic lilt, Arnalds recorded the track while dwelling at seaside cabin in the coastal town of Hvalfjörður. It’s telling too, as she orchestrates silence and commands our emotions in the same vein as her other famous namesake with this delicate lo-fi recording.
Take a listen to ‘Sudden Elevation’ below, lifted from the singer’s forthcoming album of the same name.
Sudden Elevation will be released 4 February (UK)/5 March (U.S) via One Little Indian.
