Listen: Hugh - "One Of These Days"
London's Hugh have dropped one of the best songs we've heard in ages: the smooth, sophisticated and undeniably sexy, "One Of These Days"
With its beatific synths and sunny harmonies, you have to wonder whether the quartet missed a trick by releasing "One Of These Days" in the autumn. Though it's still a little muggy outside, the track has us craning our necks to those balmy days, with Joshua Idehen and Izzy Brooks' gorgeous vocal interplay daring us to not be last in the sea.
It's not the first time we've heard such ridiculously confident, crossover music from this lot. "I Can't Seem To Figure You Out" also explores the complexities of love and lust over a lush mesh of RnB, electo-pop and jazz idiosyncracies.
"One Of These Days" is the title track of their forthcoming EP, release date TBC. We can't wait.
