Foreign/National pull you into a psychedelic swirl on new song, "Life Tourist"
Melbourne’s Foreign/National give us a taste of what’s to expect of their debut shortplayer, out this September on DOWNTIME, with the heady, sun-kissed warmth of “Life Tourist”.
The band cite the inspiration behind the song: “As we sat in the back of her step-father’s BMW, I listened to her speak a language I didn’t understand. I could tell she was sick. I wanted to care for her, but by the time we had left for Bilbao I realised I had no fucking idea what I was doing.
“The car stopped. To my right, there was glass on the road and the unmistakable outline of a covered body. The paramedic waved us on. She looked at me in the rear-view mirror and casually dropped back into English, ‘I wish that was me’”.
