Blonde starlet Marlene is yet another Swedish vocalist proving pop magic comes as naturally to artists in her native land as complaining about festival mud does to ours.
Our best detective work suggests that this is the very same Marlene Strand who lent her crystalline coos to dubstep icon Benga’s summer 2012 broiler ‘Pour Your Love‘, whether we’re off point or not, ‘Bon Voyage’ is officially the Stockholm resident’s solo debut.
Aided on production duties by French pals Tepr and Myd, ‘Bon Voyage’ is escapism as only Scandinavian pop starlets know how, summoning sweltering hand percussion, rippling marimbas, squelchy synth hooks and of course, Marlene’s effervescent hollers to wash away the tensions of another stifling summer’s day.
