Sauropod extol the virtues of not turning up on new track "Never On Time"
Sauropod are the latest band to emerge from Norway, spitting and snarling into the spotlight. Treading the same path as label mates Sløtface, Sauropod’s latest offering ‘Never On Time’ is a scrappy, pedal to the metal celebration of the pleasures of always being late.
With a chorus consisting of vocalist Jonas Røyeng singing the song's title over and over again with increasing energy, "Never On Time" is the kind of track that barrels headfirst from start to finish, without leaving any room to breathe.
This punk sensibility is balanced by the melodic hooks that underpin the whole song, perfectly complimenting the simplicity of the lyrics. In lesser hands, the sentiment of "Never On Time" could be depressing, but Sauropod twist the meaning, resulting in a celebration of doing what you want, when you want, even if that does mean you’re never where you said you’d be.
"Never On Time" is worth listening to for its energy alone, but this energy is coupled with catchy hooks and a genuinely unique sound. Sauropod tick all the boxes, and then some.
