Purpose tour producer Ghost Loft explores anxiety and depression on "Barely Breathing"
LA-based Ghost Loft's production has been heard the world over - including a track used by Justin Bieber as opening music on his Purpose world tour.
The sparse, glacial chimes of new track "Barely Breathing" sit in direct opposition to the glitz and glamour of Bieber's world. Instead, Ghost Loft shares an intensely personal exploration of his own mental health. He was hesitant to release the track - the prospect of baring his soul to fans who've racked up nearly 30 million Spotify plays being understandably daunting.
"I was in a pretty dark place when I wrote "Barely Breathing."," he explains. "I was feeling depressed and suffocated by my anxieties. One night all of the lyrics just poured out of me and I felt some solace through the process of writing this song. I hope that it can reach somebody out there going through the same thing."
