Los Angeles-based artist Brooke Aulani comes through with skittering electronic percussion and distorted vocal samples on new track “You Got Me”.
“You Got Me” is an impeccably-executed slow jam, as slinky and teasingly sexy as they come. Subtle guitar lines weave beneath dappled production, swelling into a satisfying chorus. Aulani’s vocal is measured and clear, opening up rewardingly as the track swells beneath it.
“You Got Me” is Aulani’s first single of 2017, heralding a series of new releases set to cut from a similar dark and sultry pop cloth. As an indication of what’s yet to come, it’s nothing short of tantalising.
“You Got Me” is out now.
