Watch: 1000 Names - "The Caravan" [Premiere]

08 December 2014, 11:57 | Written by Laurence Day

1000 Names, the Sofia-based electronic duo, are proudly displaying their visuals for "The Caravan", an avante-techno tune released not too long ago on DRUT Recordings, the label run by Kelpe.

The tune is a rhythmic smorgasbord, scattered with Jon Hopkins-esque bass pulses and electronica synth warmth. It may take strands from the robotic intentions of techno, but there's a lot of love inside "The Caravan".

Speaking about the AV deliciousness that is the video for their new track, 1000 Names said:

"The Caravan video is a collaboration between our collective Slow Low, director Mihail Novakov and cinematographer Marin Kafedjiiski, made for DRUT Recordings. Slow Low is collective consisting of Nikko and Margg from 1000 names, Viktoria Nesheva (graphic designer) and Nika Yonika (stage designer and visual artist). We are a party crew who organise events and work together to create the whole identity of them. We also create different art works which are associated with the whole 1000 names image.

The inspiration for the video came from our love for the nature and it’s mysteries, which are the themes we had in mind when creating our new album opening track ‘The Caravan’ (from Migration Pads). It is the connection between real and imaginary worlds and the way that they can meet and merge. The video was directed by photographer and director Mihail Novakov, a long time friend and collaborator of ours from the Sofia skate scene, and stars ourselves and members of our crew. The video was filmed in the surrounding woods of Sofia during the late summer of 2014. Many thanks to our friends, who dance in the woods to the sound of The Caravan."
