Westerman shares album title-track "Your Hero Is Not Dead"
Westerman has released his new album title-track "Your Hero Is Not Dead" as the sixth taster of the forthcoming LP.
"Your Hero Is Not Dead" follows on from earlier singles "Waiting On Design", Think I’ll Stay", "Blue Comanche", "Easy Money" and "Confirmation".
Westerman says of the new offering, "This was the last song I wrote for the whole record, but I had the title for the album before any of the music was formed. I remember I wrote it on the day that Mark Hollis died. He's probably as close to a musical hero as I have. The song isn't about him or Talk Talk necessarily, but when he died I wanted to put myself to task and respond to the sadness I was feeling at that moment."
As well as unveiling his new single, Westerman has also shared a new mix on SoundCloud titled "Huxley". It features tracks by Thundercat, George Harrison, Westerman, and more.
Your Hero Is Not Dead will be Westerman's first collection of tracks since last year's Ark EP.
He recorded the LP with his close friend and producer Nathan Jenkins (A.K.A. Bullion) between Southern Portugal and London.
