Silver Jews frontman to contribute writing to new art book
Silver Jews frontman, David Berman is set to feature in a new book by artist Friedrich Kunath.
The project, entitled You Owe Me a Feeling, will be released at the end of March and features writings from the musician dating from 1998-2005, when Berman attempted to produce twenty lines of prose or poetry every day.
The hardback will also feature paintings from Kunath and shots by photographer Michael Schmelling.
This is a brief description of Berman’s part in particular:
“Berman’s lines and lyrics range from the humorous to dour, but the overall sensation is one of an optimistic sadness. Berman’s lines function as a series of deadpan truths– from the throwaway to what may become the lifelong, aphoristic companions of one’s soul.”
