Neil Young has launched his advanced quality PonoMusic player via Kickstarter.
Pono will be a high-definition audio player, coming with with 128GB of memory and the ability to store “1,000 to 2,000 high-resolution digital-music albums”. The device “aims to preserve the feeling, spirit, and emotion that the artists put in their original studio recordings”.
“Hearing Pono for the first time is like that first blast of daylight when you leave a movie theatre on a sun-filled day,” Young recently said of the device.
You can watch the launch video below, with kind words from Jack White, Arcade Fire, Rick Rubin, Tom Petty, Sting, Foo Fighters, Elton John, Flea, Beck, My Morning Jacket, Mumford and Sons, Bruce Springsteen, Patti Smith, Elvis Costello and many more.
