Alison Goldfrapp shares new track, "Sound & Light"
Alison Goldfrapp has shared "Sound & Light" as the third track taken from her forthcoming album, Flux.
“I’d been chasing the Northern Lights for years,” Alison Goldfrapp says. “I’d gone to Finland, Iceland and Norway but never managed to catch them.” She put her imagined fantasy of this phenomenon into "Sound & Light", the first song written for new album Flux, where she sings of “a change in the alchemy” and “emerald ribbons”.
The track is about “the excitement of an open vista and wanting to embrace a new feeling of emotional freedom” she says. By some miracle and to Alison’s delight the Northern Lights revealed themselves later that evening – a very rare occurrence for Southern Sweden on a warm balmy evening. It was almost like she had summoned them through song.
Flux is Alison Goldfrapp's forthcoming second album following the 2023 release, The Love Invention.
Flux is set for release on 15 August via her own record label A.G Records which launched last year, and is available to pre-order now.
