Jay-Z shares Nirvana-quoting lyrics for Timberlake-featuring track 'Holy Grail'
Following on from news over the weekend that one of the tracks from Jay-Z’s new album is going to feature Nirvana lyrics borrowed, the hip-hop mogul has now leaked a full copy of the song in question’s lyrics.
‘Holy Grail’ is set to feature on Magna Carta Holy Grail, out 4 July, and features Justin Timberlake on guest vocal duties. The Nirvana-inspired line comes from ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’, appearing as:
“And we all just
Entertainers
And we’re stupid
And contagious.”
“I’m letting Jay-Z use lyrics– Frances would freak ,” Kurt Cobain’s widow Courtney Love recently told Huffington Post. “Jay-Z’s huge and we’re friends. I mean we’re not besties or anything.”
