Guava Island features reworks of recent Childish Gambino releases
Guava Island, a new feature film with Donald Glover (Childish Gambino) and Rihanna, will feature reworks of recent releases from Gambino.
According to The New York Times, the movie was premiered last night, and included new versions of his "This Is America" hit - also directed by Guava Island director Hiro Murai - and Gambino's "Summertime Magic", and "Feels Like Summer" singles.
Rihanna doesn't sing in the movie, according to The Hollywood Reporter, but the 54-minute film does feature some short new jingles from Gambino, including one called "Red's Cargo" (named after Nonso Anozie's character).
Guava Island rumours started last summer, when Rihanna and Glover were spotted filming in Cuba together. Later that summer, the multi-talented musician/actor premiered a trailer for the film at a New Zealand film festival.
It wasn't until earlier this week that the film was confirmed, when director Hiro Murai uploaded an image of the movie title with a date of 13 April.
