Black Country, New Road preview debut album with latest single "Track X"
Black Country, New Road have returned with "Track X" today (11 January) as the latest taster of their debut album For the first time.
"Track X" marks the band's first release of 2021, following last year's "Science Fair" single.
Lead vocalist Isaac Wood says of the song, ""Track X" is a song we first worked on in 2018 but one that never made it out into our live performances. We decided to resurrect it during the recording of For the first time and assemble it in the studio. The story is old but a good one and worth telling. We believe that people will enjoy singing along."
"Track X" and "Science Fair" will feature on For the first time alongside reinterpretations of their "Sunglasses" and "Athens, France" tracks.
Black Country, New Road recorded their debut LP with Andy Savours (My Bloody Valentine). They started recording before the pandemic, and finished it up towards the end of lockdown.
Saxophonist Lewis Evans says, "We wanted it to sound exactly how we love to sound live." Vocalist Isaac Wood adds, "This is basically representative of our first 18 months."
As well as sharing "Track X" today (11 January), Black Country, New Road have announced a global livestream show taking place at London's Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Southbank Centre on 6 March. Tickets are available now from dice.fm.
