Good Good Blood announce new album, unveil the soft radiance of "Fallen Leaves"
James Smith has been quietly releasing music from his West Yorkshire base for a few years now, much of it under his Good Good Blood moniker.
He's also the man behind Fox Food Records, although his new album Songs From Where I Live will be released next month through NY state-based Team Love Records. The first track to be taken from it is the quietly beautiful "Fallen Leaves".
Picked-out psych folk guitar lines circle around Smith's fragile vocal, with the pitter-patter of drums, recalling the work of underrated US act Kingsbury Manx. Like them, Good Good Blood hint at something happier just out of reach, cloaking sadness in beautiful arrangements. "Fallen Leaves" has a wistful air, yet there's a weight of meaning to be found within its notes.
