Listen: Florian Lunaire – Summering Here
‘Summering Here’ is a quirky, literary pop gem from Florian Lunaire, who you may also know from his band Disappearers. It comes from the upcoming Spring/Summer EP, which will be released in August on Records Records Records, and forms part of his seasonal EP project in which he plans to record new songs each season in different studios around the world. Instrumentally uncomplicated, this jaunty little track stays on the right side of twee but is still cute as a button. It is the unusual vocal which adds an interesting world-weary quality to the otherwise shiny happy track, and the lyrics are equally intriguing. Florian stresses the lyrical importance of his songs, saying that they are actually very short stories which have been set to music.
