“World's shortest album” to be released for Record Store Day
A list of upcoming special releases were announced earlier today for Record Store Day 2013, and among the weirder offerings is what’s being labelled the “world’s shortest album”.
The record in question, put out by Earache Records, will include a series of short bursts by various metal and grindcore acts.
Totalling at just 82.8 seconds in length, the release has been ratified by the Guinness Book of Records as the shortest in the world.
Insect Warfare’s Beau Beasley said of the project:
“I like the primal aspect of these songs. Anything that really needs to be said can really be expressed very simply. Think of the power of the word ‘NO’. When you hear it yelled you immediately know its intent. Imagine that power with the sound of a blast beat behind it”.
Record Store Day is held this year on 20 April. The full tracklist for this release is as below:
