Lil Nas X gets candid about his sexuality on new single, "Trust Me"
Earlier this week, Lil Nas X shared the brand new single, "Trust Me" on SoundCloud after teasing it online.
Last month, after teasing the track, he expressed his feelings about sharing such a personal story online: “I hate explaining myself every time i do anything, but this is not for shock. this is me telling my story, y’all being uncomfortable by it does not make it a gimmick. This is for me and my fans fuck everybody else," he wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
He has now shared that the song "means a lot" to him, after releasing the track on SoundCloud, although fans are not very happy with his choice to avoid releasing on DSPs such as Spotify for Apple Music.
"Do you got sum against streaming platforms or what bc im tired of going to the ghetto to stream new lil nas," one person wrote, whilst another said: "you want to be a SoundCloud rapper so badly!! BE A SPOTIFY RAPPER. IM TRYING TO MAKE MY SUMMER PLAYLISTS!"
The forthcoming tour documentary LIL NAS X: LONG LIVE MONTERO will be available on digital platforms to rent and own from next month onwards.
