Modern Baseball shoot for the stars on "This Song Is Gonna Buy Brendan Lukens A New Pair Of Socks"
Modern Baseball are back with their first new song since Holy Ghost - and you're not likely to find a better titled track this season.
Modern Baseball's last record was met with adoration. Over six months on, and as they prepare to hit the road across the UK and Europe, the group have shared their first new track since their most celebrated LP.
Nostalgia, regret, confusion, and escapism retold along addictive pop-punk refrains, "This Song Is Gonna Buy Brendan Lukens A New Pair Of Socks" showcases the raw emotion and raucous energy that's made Modern Baseball so beloved with contagious effect.
"This is the first song we wrote as a band since the Holy Ghost sessions,” Jake Ewald told DIY. “I showed the guys an acoustic demo, then we met up at our studio to flesh it out and record it ourselves. Right now we’re really into guitar solos.”
"This Song Is Gonna Buy Brendan Lukens A New Pair Of Socks" is released as part of a split release with Thin Lips and The Superweaks. The three bands tour Europe and the UK together from later this month into February. The 7" will be available at these shows, with any remaining stock then sold in stores and online.
