A year on from his second self-titled album, Segall is back with one of his most eclectic and electric releases to date. Freedom's Goblin is as romantic as it is raucous, twisting and turning through a myriad of genres with a cackling glee.

Featuring singles "Alta", "Meaning", "My Lady's On Fire", "The Main Pretender", and a cover of Hot Chocolate's "Every 1's A Winner" (just to name a few), the 19-track release incorporates everything from piano ballads to disco funk, and - of course - Segall's characteristic brand of fuzzed up garage rock.

Characteristically uncharacteristic, Freedom's Goblin sees Ty Segall and his Freedom Band smash their template (if they ever had one) with a proficiency that'll leave you reeling.

Freedom's Goblin is released via Drag City on 26 January and is available to stream via NPR.
