The Vaccines preview new album with fourth single "El Paso"
The Vaccines have shared a fourth outing from their upcoming album Back In Love City titled "El Paso".
"El Paso" is the fourth preview of The Vaccines' fifth album Back In Love City, arriving after earlier offerings "Alone Star", "Back In Love City" and May's "Headphones Baby".
The new song shares its name with El Paso, the closest city to Sonic Ranch studio, where The Vaccines recorded Back In Love City. The album will follow 2018's Combat Sports, and was recorded with producer Daniel Ledinsky (Tove Lo, Zara Larson, TV on the Radio, Rihanna).
The album, finished in early 2020, is inspired by fictional cities including Ridley Scott’s version of LA from Blade Runner, came together after lead vocalist Justin Young took part in a house swap in LA. Young explains, "I literally swapped lives with a stranger. I lived in in house and drove his car while he lived in mine, but we’d never met and had no previous connections."
Young told Best Fit of the album, "With this record, from day one, the songwriting, recording, arrangement, and conceptualising, it all felt so good, easy, and carefree. It felt like when you first start a band, and that’s how it should feel."
