Recently-disbanded Sonic Youth are set to celebrate their legacy with a series of archival releases, starting with a live album coming out in November.
The alt-rock legends will work on a series of compilations, starting with this Smart Bar – Chicago 1985 release which will see the light of day in 2xLP, CD, and digital formats on 14 November.
The record consists of 14 tracks and was recorded on 11 August 1985 at, as the title suggests, the Smart Bar in Chicago.
Guitarist Lee Ranaldo recently told BBC Radio 5 that the group will release likewise outputs in the near future, while the individual members focus on alternate projects.
