Watch Sigur Rós collaborate with The Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra
Sigur Rós performed a medley of their hits at the Walt Disney Concert Hall with the help of The L.A. Philharmonic - and you can watch their full set now.
Sigur Rós are a band noted for their ethereal elements that borrow from classical styles just as much as post-rock and Brian Eno-esque synthesis, so it comes as no great surprise that the group joined forces with the world famous Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra to create a multi-faceted sonic environment where their listeners could become totally immersed in perplexing modal changes and interesting sonic textures.
If that wasn't enough the likes of Owen Pallett, Dan Deacon, Anna Meredith, and Nico Muhly contributed string arrangements to the project. From the looks of things, the lengthy set at the hallowed Walt Disney Concert Hall felt like an eternity in a heavenly slumber (although it definitely gets noisy at points).
Make yourself a brew, fullscreen the set below, and chill out ahead of the election tomorrow.
