Sebadoh announce first album in six years with lead single "celebrate the void"
Rock group Sebadoh have announced their first LP in six years, Act Surprised, alongside the lead single "celebrate the void".
Led by Dinosaur Jr. bass player Lou Barlow, Sebadoh have released the first new track since 2013's Defend Yourself album and their Secret EP.
Speaking about the new single, Barlow explains, "The first line of this song: "I get the feeling you don’t feel me" is pretty good. It could be a line in an Ariana Grande song, I like it. I followed it from there through some general complaints about a composite character in my life, someone I could never crack. Sometimes the walls are too high. If you think about it, the resistance was always there, even in the very beginning. What to do? Pick endlessly at the seams? Replay moments in my head looking for a way to explain it all? No, stop, there is no one answer and that’s OK…Celebrate the void."
Act Surprised is Sebadoh's first album since 2013. In between the two records Barlow released his third solo album Brace the Wave, and returned to Dinosaur Jr. with their 2016 record Give a Glimpse of What Yer Not.
