Prince to release new album HITNRUN

We knew the record was coming after members of his band 3RDEYEGIRL spilled the beans on BBC Radio 6 Music: "Super hardcore Prince fans that know every song he's ever recorded - we refer to them as 'The Purple Collective' or 'The Purple Army' - this album is absolutely for them, because it's super funky. There are a lot of experimental sounds. It's just hit after hit and definitely caters to those fans who just love to hear what Prince has to say, rather than wanting to always hear that classic Purple Rain Prince sound."

The LP is set to feature "HARDROCKLOVER", which was revealed last month. The new album might be an exclusive, but there's a single you can still only hear on Spotify.

Prince said of the partnership with Jay Z's streaming service:

HITNRUN will be available exclusively via TIDAL on 7 September, and it seems that Prince . It's produced by Joshua Welton, who co-produced last year's ARTOFFICIALAGE.
