Matthew Herbert to release whole album based around Libyan war field recording

Electronic producer, BBC Radiophonic Workshop reviver and all-round maverick, Matthew Herbert has confirmed details of his upcoming new album The End of Silence.
Following on from previous record One Pig, which documented the life cycle of a farmed pig, from birth to the dinner plate, Herbert has now revealed that his new LP (out 24 June) is based around a field recording taken during the battle of Ras Lanuf in Libya during the civil war in 2011.
The sample was only 10 seconds in length, but has been stripped, cut and warped into three parts for the new record. You can listen to the first part of the release streaming below:
