Matt Maltese announces third album with second outing "Shoe"
Matt Maltese has announced his third album Good Morning It’s Now Tomorrow, and has unveiled new single "Shoe" to accompany the news.
"Shoe" is the second song to be shared from Maltese's Good Morning It's Now Tomorrow album, arriving after May's first outing "Mystery".
Maltese says of the new release, "It’s a sincere, slightly warped march in the name of love. I think that some of the most meaningful things can be both stupid and serious, and with "Shoe" I’ve tried to walk that wire."
Good Morning It's Now Tomorrow will follow 2019's Krystal album, and was written and recorded between his London home and Echo Zoo studios.
Speaking about the album, Maltese explains, "A lot of this [new] record is escapism. I’ve had to find more meaning out of the small parts of life. I want this record to celebrate the theatre in all the small things. It’s so cheesy to say it, but I think life is best when you try to make the ordinary extraordinary."
He adds, "It’s a real coping record. The pandemic made me very aware of the small things and the important things. It made the past feel even further away which is why I think the album is so hopeful. It made me realise which relationships and connections are real and a true source of joy. It made me latch onto those things more than ever."
