Lewis Capaldi reckons Noel Gallagher loves him
Lewis Capaldi reckons Noel Gallagher loves him after their "lovers' tiff".
Gallagher and Capaldi have had a comedic feud over the past couple of months. It all started when Noel Gallagher slagged Capaldi off, resulting in Capaldi strolling into his Glastonbury set in a parka, complete with a t-shirt with Noel's face on it underneath. Capaldi also managed to get a picture with Liam Gallagher, which probably pissed off Noel even more.
Capaldi then raised the bar even higher, and decided to serenade a group of people at Barn On The Farm festival with "Don't Look Back In Anger".
Their comedic feud came to a head when Gallagher called Capaldi "Fucking Chewbacca" in an interview, resulting in Capaldi actually walking out on stage at TRNSMT festival wearing a Chewbacca mask.
Capaldi's Chewbacca mask was then auctioned off on eBay to raise money for Frightened Rabbit's Tiny Changes charity, but after the initial bidder failed to pay for the mask, Paolo Nutini stepped in to donate £10,000 to the charity, and has set up a raffle to raise even more money for Tiny Changes.
Last month Capaldi revealed that he gave Gallagher a big hug when they met, and whispered in his ear, "It’s gonna be OK".
Speaking to Roman Kemp on his Capital Breakfast show, Capaldi explained of their beef, "This is the thing, right – he bloody … he loves me. I’m trying to work out if I can send him a plaque for the album. It would be tremendous."
When asked about the "feud", Capaldi answered, "I wouldn't call it a feud, I'd call it a lovers' tiff."
He added, "But no, he’s a lovely man, there was no animosity. I mean, I’ve got new T-shirt ideas for Chewis Capaldi for him calling me Chewbacca. This is totally fine, do you know what I mean?"
