
Jim Carrey on The Weeknd's new album: "It was deep and elegant and it danced me around the room"
Following the announcement of The Weeknd's Dawn FM album yesterday (3 January), Jim Carrey, who is also featured on the album, revealed that it's "deep and elegant".
After teasing the imminent arrival of his new album on socials over the past few days, The Weeknd finally confirmed the title and release date of his follow-up to 2020's After Hours yesterday (3 January).
The new album, titled Dawn FM, was announced with a one-minute trailer, which confirmed contributions from Tyler, the Creator, Lil Wayne, Quincy Jones, Oneohtrix, and Jim Carrey.
Following the album announcement, Jim Carrey wrote about the upcoming record on Twitter, "I listened to Dawn FM with my good friend Abel (The Weeknd) last night. It was deep and elegant and it danced me around the room. I’m thrilled to play a part in his symphony."
The Weeknd also responded to Carrey's tweet, writing, "Thank you for being a part of this. It’s kismet. Full circle."

The Weeknd, real name Abel Tesfaye, is yet to share a tracklist for the album.
Tesfaye has had a busy few months following the release of his August 2021 single "Take My Breath". He's collaborated with Kanye West, Belly, Swedish House Mafia and Post Malone, and more recently featured on Rosalía's "LA FAMA", FKA twigs' "Tears In The Club" and Aaliyah's posthumous single "Poison".
