HMV offered £9 million for Oxford Street store
Financially-troubled music chain, HMV have reportedly been offered up to £9 million for their flagship Oxford Street store.
The high street entertainment retailer are said to be considering offers between £6 million – £9 million for their main London branch.
The Guardian report that the company’s administrators are deciding whether they can still keep the shop premises as part of their downscaling plans.
H&M, Uniqlo, JD Sports and more are said to be interested in the building, which is currently said to be Europe’s largest record shop.
The shop has stood since 1921, originally looking like the picture above.
HMV yesterday revealed that they will close 66 other stores and cut around 930 jobs.
