Grimes says her fifth record is "way done"
Grimes has revealed that her next album is "way done", but she's waiting for the physical copies to be made before revealing more.
Last month Grimes, real name Claire Boucher, returned with new single "Violence".
"Violence" was supposeduly the first single from Grimes' new record Miss_Anthropocene, which she announced back in March.
On a recent Instagram post, a fan asked, "AHHHHH WHATS THE DATE PLS TELL US." Grimes replied, "Well tbh im scared to say cuz I’ve tried to release this song three times and had major act of god interventions so I’m so paranoid of something somehow happening so i'm gonna wait til streaming services confirm the track is actually uploaded and playable b4 saying anything to avoid enraging y’all with further delays."
Grimes added in another comment, "Well I’m on an indie label so basically it takes three months to even just print vinyl. Album is way done but we don’t have priority at facilities to make the physical stuff so basically just chillin while it gets made haha [tbh] I have lots of stuff coming and some features w other ppl etc. it’ll be a good productive year."
Grimes' next album Miss_Anthropocene will be her first in four years, after 2015's Art Angels.
On top of her "We Appreciate Power" single with HANA last year, Grimes has featured on Poppy's "Play Destroy", Bring Me The Horizon's "nihilist blues", and Jimmy Urine's "The Medicine Does Not Control Me".
