Freddie Gibbs appears to respond to recent Kendrick Lamar verse on new "Vice Lord Poetry" freestyle
Freddie Gibbs has shared his "Vice Lord Poetry" freestyle that features Drake's "Champagne Poetry" instrumental, and it appears that he responds to Kendrick Lamar's "family ties" verse.
Last month Lamar appeared on Baby Keem's "family ties" single, and rapped, "Smoking on yo' top five tonight, huh, tonight, you know / Yeah, I'm smoking on your, what's her name? Tonight, tonight / Smoking on you, shores, ain't 2-9, yeah, two."
On Saturday (11 September), Gibbs dropped his "Vice Lord Poetry" freestyle that sees him rapping over the instrumental of Drake's Certified Lover Boy opener "Champagne Poetry", and appeared to address Lamar's "Smoking on top fives" line by rapping, "I was big rabbit before the birth of my son / The Earth ain’t big enough for both of us, you gotta get done / They sayin' they smoking top fives / But you ain't burned up the one."
Back in July Gibbs hopped on Nas' Hit Boy-produced version of "Life Is Like A Dice Game" with Cordae. The same month Gibbs also spoke about his upcoming album Soul Sold Separately, saying it'll have "more features".
