Eurovision 2020 cancelled due to coronavirus pandemic
This year's Eurovision Song Contest that was due to take place in Rotterdam in May has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The COVID-19 pandemic is continuing to escalate, forcing events to postpone or cancel amid health concerns.
Following Glastonbury 2020 being cancelled earlier today, the Eurovision Song Contest has followed suit after reportedly holding a meeting yesterday (17 March).
There's a possibility that this year’s acts will be invited to take part in next year's contest, but it's still unclear if the same songs will be valid. That means Iceland's Daði Freyr won't be able to perform their massive banger, and Russia's bizarre 2020 entry by Little Big might also be swept under the carpet.
The UK was due to be represented in Rotterdam by James Newman and his "My Last Breath" song.
