Empress Of and DJDS take Lana Del Rey's "Love" in a very different direction
Empress Of has teamed up with DJDS for an electronic edition of "Love", Lana Del Rey's superbly on-brand single from earlier this year.
"There's a story about LA in there that pulled us all in," say DJDS in a statement. "We just wanted to try our own version, put our sound in it and pay tribute to a piece of work that really inspired us this year."
The original, swoon-laden version of "Love" appears on Del Rey's latest LP Lust For Life.
Empress Of's Lorely Rodriguez has been busy in the time since her debut, and as well as joining forces with DJDS she's been collaborating with the likes of Pional, Darkstar, and Blood Orange, remixing Miike Snow, and releasing a few standalone cuts: the magnificent "Go To Hell" and "Woman Is A Word".
