Drake's old lyric notebook is being auctioned for $32,500
An old notebook of lyrics from Drake's teenage years will be auctioned for a hefty sum of $32,500.
TMZ report that the notebook was found in a bin outside Drake's grandfather's furniture store in Toronto, complete with the Canadian rapper's signature.
The lyric book was written between 2002 and 2005, back when he was known Aubrey Graham.
At the time he was landing a few acting jobs, and in 2005 he started his Jimmy Brooks role in Degrassi.
Drake's notebook will be auctioned by memorabilia company Moments in Time, and reportedly has 20-25 pages of full songs and contemplations from the rapper.
According to TMZ, one of the verses reads, "Girls lie and you make it evident you affected / Up north / Drake is the president I’m respected / But I’m a liar due to the evidence you collected / From chicks in my crew / To chicks beside you / Cashiers at the drive through / Them hoes lie too".
Last night Aubrey Graham, now Drake, picked up the Grammy for Best Rap Song, commemorating his 2018 hit "God's Plan". During his acceptance speech, producers cut to a break after he seemed to play down his award, "Look, look, if there’s people who have regular jobs who are coming out in the rain, in the snow, spending their hard-earned money to buy tickets to come to your shows, you don’t need this [award] right here. I promise you, you already won."
