Coldplay's final record planned for 2025
Coldplay's Chris Martin has revealed that the band are planning to release their final album in 2025.
While speaking on BBC Radio 2's The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show yesterday (22 December), Jo Whiley played an audio clip of her upcoming show this evening (23 December) with Chris Martin, which saw the Coldplay frontman say, "Well I know I can tell you: our last proper record will come out in 2025 and after that I think we will only tour,” Martin said. “Maybe we’ll do some collaborative things but the Coldplay catalogue, as it were, finishes then."
After the clip, Whiley reiterated that she can never tell if Martin is joking or not, "He’s always very funny and I’m never quite sure if he’s joking or being deadly serious."
Coldplay released their ninth album Music Of The Spheres in October. Since then they've covered Spice Girls and PinkPantheress during live performances.
