CHVRCHES placed fifth in BBC Sound of 2013 poll
Glasgow indie-poppers CHVRCHES have come fifth in the BBC Sound of 2013 poll.
Announced this morning (31 December), the Scottish threepiece are the first from the shortlist to be unveiled.
The annual list heralds the big names in new music and is voted for by the UK’s top journalists, broadcasters, tastemakers and bloggers.
Last year’s winner Michael Kiwanuka joined the likes of Jessie J and Adele in having topped the list.
The likes of The Weeknd, AlunaGeorge, Savages, Angel Haze, HAIM and King Krule also feature in this year’s nominations.
Fourth place will be announced tomorrow (1 January).
