Cass McCombs recounts infamous heist on new track "The Great Pixley Train Robbery"
Cass McCombs tell the tale of a 1889 train heist in new track "The Great Pixley Train Robbery".
"The Great Pixley Train Robbery" is the third teaste of Cass McCombs forthcoming album Tip of the Sphere, after "Sleeping Volcanoes" and "Estrella".
McCombs' new track recounts a real train robbery from 1889 having found a newspaper article on the robbery from the 1800’s.
Tip of the Sphere is McComb's ninth studio album, and will be his first since 2016's Mangy Love. It was recorded at Brooklyn's Figure 8 Studios, owned by Shahzad Ismaily. His new album enlists his core band of Dan Horne (bass), Otto Hauser (drums) and Frank LoCrasto (piano, organ, and more), and is engineered by Sam Owens.
Late last year we managed to catch him live at London's Hoxton Hall, where he performed a two hour set.
