Amyl and The Sniffers share cover of Patrick Hernandez's "Born to Be Alive"
Amyl and The Sniffers have released their final song of the year, a cover of Patrick Hernandez's "Born to Be Alive".
The Australian group haven't released new music since their 2019 self-titled debut album, although lead vocalist Amy Taylor did collaborate with Tropical Fuck Storm on a cover of The Saints' "This Perfect Day" in April, and featured on Viagra Boys' cover of John Prine's "In Spite Of Ourselves" earlier this month.
Amyl and The Sniffers revealed via Instagram that their cover of "Born to Be Alive" was recorded for the RISING: SINGLES CLUB. Rising revealed via their Instagram that they wanted "an anthem to help us stage dive into 2021, with full hearts and flailing limbs."
The band added on their own IG post, "It’s good 2 be alive ! CELEBRATE THE WIERD YEAR! Rising Melbourne organised us to cover one of the best songs ever, out on the 30th in time for New Year’s Eve.
