Beatenberg share new single, “Worth More”
Having announced their third album The Great Fire of Beatenberg towards the end of last year, the South African band Beatenberg have released its fifth single, "Worth More".
In lyricist and frontman Matthew Field’s words, the single “was written with my dear friend and frequent collaborator, the one and only Tresor. The three repeats of the chorus create an interesting structure. I don’t have a shirt with parakeet buttons but I would wear such a thing.” To coincide with the single, the band have also shared a tour documentary shot by Javier Lara from their time touring Europe in June last year.
2023 saw the London/Berlin trio tease four singles from the album, “When I Fall Asleep”, “Gold Mine”, “Eau de Toilette,” a song about attraction to someone’s post-workout fragrance and "Don't Call Her Over To You".
The Great Fire of Beatenberg will be the band’s first album in five years, following on from the band's 2022 EP, On the way to Beatenberg, as well as the 2018 album, 12 Views of Beatenberg. It was produced by Ross Dorkin and Matthew Field from the band and mixed by Nathan Boddy (Mura Masa, PinkPantheress, Gabriels).
Beatenberg as set to celebrate the album's release with their biggest headline show in the UK to date at KOKO on 18 April.
Beatenberg’s third studio album, The Great Fire of Beatenberg, comes out on 5 April 2024 via Leafy Outlook.
