Osquello shares brooding new track “Tired Creature” featuring Sunken’s Poppy Billingham
The North London hip-hop artist is a precocious talent who counts the likes of Declan McKenna and Clairo as collaborators.
An amalgamation of jizz jazz, soul and hip-hop, “Tired Creature” is a brilliant demonstration of Osquello’s songwriting and production abilities. The song purports to tell the story of an obsessive figure whose dedication to his artistic passions comes at the expensive of his friends and family. It would be easy to assume that “Tired Creatures” is somewhat autobiographical in nature if you study the complexity and obvious dedication that runs through the seam of Osquello’s music.
Poppy Billingham is a very welcome addition and adds a touch of melancholia to the whole affair. This is art made with breathless honesty - confounding and exciting.
