Listen: Daniel Wilson - "If You Went Away"
Daniel Wilson unveils a final song from his Boy Who Cried Thunder EP, the heart-tugging "If You Went Away".
It's no secret that we adore Daniel Wilson here at Best Fit. The man has pipes full of soul that never threat to burst - a safety catch of self-assured musicianship and talent - and every song he's shared to date hits us with a huge, emotional gut-punch.
Latest track "If You Went Away" has smatterings of the heartbreak balladry of early song "Will You", completed by staccato piano, grave strings and Wilson's earnest, gravelly vocal. All the musical components go hand-in-hand with candid lyrics of a relationship swan song. We're as affected by it almost as much as the man himself.
Boy Who Cried Thunder EP is released on November 25.
